Can a muslim boy perform nikah with a hindu girl ?
Question:
Can a muslim boy perform nikah with a hindu girl without her converting to islam at the time of nikah? Later she may convert to islam.
Answer:
A male Muslim cannot marry a polytheist. Both partners must be Muslims at the time of marriage; this is why we often see the partners recite the Kalima Sharif at the actual marriage ceremony. Certainly, a man cannot marry a female infidel in hope that she will become a Muslim.
