Raising hands for dua ? PDF Print E-mail

Question:

I would like to know there are certain popular duas like dua e jamillah and dua e
ganjul arsh. when reciting these uas do we have to hold up our hands like a we do in
normall duas or can they be said without lifting your hands.

Answer:

It is sunnat to lift one’s hands when making du’a (supplicating) and this is the case for all du’as. However, if one is reciting or reading the du’a from a book then whatever is easy for the recitor should be done, whether it be to lift the hands or not.
