Can Durood Sharif be read whilst on monthly periods?

Question:

Can Durood Sharif be read whilst on monthly periods?

Answer:

In the state of menstruation, a woman cannot;
-enter the mosque.
-Perform Tawaf of the Kaa’ba.
-perform Salah.
-recite the Quran.
-Touch the Quran.
-Fast.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘A menstruating woman should not recite anything from the Quran.’ (Tirmidhi, Chapter of Cleanliness, 98)
If she recites the Quran with the intention of performing a Dua (e.g. O Allah! Forgive me and my parents and all the believers on the Day of Reckoning) or to praise someone or something (e.g. Al-Hamdu Lillah), or to start an important matter (e.g. Bismillah), it is permissible. It is important however that she does not recite them with the intention of reciting the Quran.
As for Durud Sharif, she can read it when she hears the name of the Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Otherwise, she should not make a habit of reading it in the state of impurity, owing to the importance and rank of Durud Sharif.
