Insha Allah, the Islamic Centre will hold the next Islamic Study Circles on Sunday 30th June, 2013, after Asr Salah (7:30pm) at the Islamic Centre, Conduit Street, Leicester. The topic of this programme will be the ‘Mawt: the soul’s journey after death’
In April 2013, the Islamic Centre hosted a programme on Mawt. Largely focussing on what exactly Mawt is from an Islamic perspective, the presentation showed that death does not equal nothingness, but rather the transferral from one state to another, with a new set of rules. The notes from this programme are available from the front page of our website, www.islamiccentre.org.
Insha Allah, Sunday’s programme is the second part of this topic area, in which we will chart the journey each and every one of us will make one day to Allah. Starting with the agony at the last moments of life, the talk will cover what happens to the body and soul in the grave until the Day of Judgement. Most of the programme will draw inspiration from Imam al-Ghazali’s section on Mawt in the brilliant Ihya Ulum al-Din.
The programme begins at Asr Salah (7:30 pm). Insha Allah, the programme:
● will feature a 30-45 minute presentation.
● will accommodate the attendance of sisters.
● will give an opportunity for questions at the conclusion of the talk.
● will have light refreshments at the end of the programme.
Please forward this email on to your Muslim friends and relatives in and around Leicester, Jazakallah.
